Sunset and Lighthouse – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

Sunsets and Lighthouses It is nearly summer here in New England and I am out on the ocean nearly daily.  A couple nights ago I was able to capture an awesome sunset, lighthouse pic.  I was in the Gardiners Bay area looking North towards Connecticut.  The timing was just right to capture the sun giving […]

Pic of the Week – Prague at Dusk

By Leave a Comment

I was in Prague this past week and eager to get some shots at nighttime. As I approached The Charles Bridge it wasn’t dark yet but the view I was able to capture looking towards the castle really showed some vibrant hues.

Pic of the Week – Bangkok “Signage”

By Leave a Comment

I have had my share of wasted time in dive bars over the years. I was in Bangkok last night shooting a bit of pool and having a few beers. After a while I had to use the bathroom and came across this sign in the men’s room. It was somewhat of a wash basin […]

New England Coastal Sunset – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

Lighthouses from the Northeast  Happy fourth of July!  As summer is in full swing I thought I would share one of my lighthouse/sunset pics.  This one is taken from Gardiners Bay looking north to the Connecticut coast.  It is not often this time of  year when the sky colors are just right and I am […]

Awesome Thailand Afternoon Sky – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

I was walking around Bangkok during the rainy season when the weather can never seem to make up its mind on what it wants to do. A very brief light shower quickly gave way to a spot of sun and a rainbow creating an almost outer space feel.

Lighthouse at Dusk – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

I pass this lighthouse on the job everyday. This gives me the opportunity to get some great shots. This one was taken about ten minutes past sunset last night and had some impressive hues.

Lincoln Park Zoo’s Frisky Turtles – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

I was visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago with my brother and nephew when we came across this frisky pair of turtles.  Lucky for me I didn’t get the “what are they doing” question from my young nephew!  I thought this would give everyone a laugh and give the whole “pic of the week” a […]

The Blue Mosque Istanbul at Night – Pic of the Week

Blue Mosque at Night

I had booked a hotel in the historic area of Istanbul with a rooftop terrace.  After checking in late at night, I was anxious to head up and see the view.  After a few minutes of admiring the lights of the harbor entrance I turned around to a stunning view of the Blue Mosque.   Sultan […]

Chain Bridge Budapest – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

I was in Budapest last week with my friend Andi from Serbia. We were out walking around looking to get some good pictures of Budapest at night. This shot taken from the Buda side on a very cold night illustrates just how beautiful Budapest can be during the night.

Child on the street – Pic of the week

By Leave a Comment

I normally use the pic of the week post for something more visually beautiful but this image is just stuck in my head. As I rounded a street corner in downtown Bangkok I came across this child looking up at me with a cup of change. At first I felt like I got punched in […]

Icelandic Horse In Norwegian Mountains – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

Icelandic Horse

I was out riding horses with my cousin on a bitterly cold day up in the area of her mountain farm.   Despite the sub-zero conditions I was having a blast.  I was able to capture this picture as the morning sun was making its way above the mountain crest right before the freezing temperatures […]

Beautiful Hallstatt Austria – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

Hallstatt

Hallstatt is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria. With a Population of just under 1,000 the central village keeps to its historic character by banning cars. If you arrive by car. you will have to park in one of the 2 parking lots outside the village. A popular destination for its natural […]

Poznan Old Town – Pic of the week

By Leave a Comment

Poznan Old Town

Europe is full of beautiful Squares.   Poznan’s Old Town Square is one of the more “unsung”  if you will.   I was browsing a map of Poland trying to decide which city to visit.  After doing a Google search on images of Poznan I was sold.   After arriving,  I was elated with its […]

Colors of Dusk – Pic of the Week

Sunset Long Island Sound

Out on Long Island Sound a few weeks ago and the sunset turned out not to be the best shot of the evening. As the sunset disappeared beyond the horizon its glow continued to offer amazing colors.

Ferry in Gulf of Finland – Pic of the Week

By Leave a Comment

I was crossing the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki to Estonia in the middle of the winter aboard a Viking Ferry. Always a fan of sunsets, I was able to catch the sun as it began its descent while we cruised through the frozen floes.
