Icelandic Horse In Norwegian Mountains – Pic of the Week

By

I was out riding horses with my cousin on a bitterly cold day up in the area of her mountain farm.   Despite the sub-zero conditions I was having a blast.  I was able to capture this picture as the morning sun was making its way above the mountain crest right before the freezing temperatures killed the battery in my camera.

What a fantastic photo–I remember seeing this pic from your blog posts from this trip! It is an image that sticks with you as I’m sure the experience will always be fondly remembered by you for many years to come! Despite those frigid temps, I would have had a blast too–the scenery must have been beautiful and just such a neat experience! It’s no wonder you were having such a great time! Moments like that are food for the soul and warm you on the inside!!! How many people can say they have gone riding on an Icelandic Horse in the Norwegian mountains? Not many!! So awesome!!!!!!!

Good that you got to take that pic before the battery died! I was worried about the same on summit night in Kili but, mercifully, it either wasn’t cold enough or the camera was well-shielded.

Oh man I would have been so bummed if I had climbed Kili only to have a dead camera battery.
