How to get from Dublin Airport to the City Center

By

If you are flying into Dublin and looking for a quick way to get into the city, the 747 Airlink bus is a great option.

Leaving about every 15 minutes from right outside the arrivals terminal. It is a nice looking green double-decker, making it easy to spot. Plenty of racks for luggage and holds about 70 people. It makes 12 stops, optimally located throughout the city. There is a route map on the bus as well as a TV screen with audio announcing the next stop. The trip from the airport to the last stop on the route is about 25 minutes long give or take depending on traffic. Cost is €6 one way or €10 for a round trip. the ticket can be purchased at a kiosk right outside arrivals or purchased from the driver. The return ticket has a 90 day expiration on it. Note: you can hit a button for the bus to stop, but the driver may not be able to heed your call due to traffic. So your best plan is to just figure ahead of time what stop is closest to your destination.

private charter flights to choice hotspots that are seasonal in the area. ize-full wp-image-1630″ alt=”Dublin 747 Bus” src=”http://solobagging.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/dub-bus.jpg” width=”568″ height=”426″ />

The last stop on the 747 route is Heuston, which is a train station, so the 747 is also a good bet if your final destination is outside Dublin and you need to connect to rail.

When you are taking the 747 bus to central Dublin just note the direction of travel. When you wish to return to the airport just be on the opposite side of the street. The locations of the bus stops are marked with signs. If you are unsure of this, just ask hotel reception which stop is closest to you. Some hotels can also sell you a ticket for the 747 with no additional costs.

Overall the Airlink 747 bus is fairly priced and a quick option to get you into straight into the heart of Dublin. They’re modern buses, clean and comfortable, have fun!

I like places with easy transport like this. Paris’ Charles de Gaulle has a similar bus service which is MUCH cheaper than taxis and faster than the train. I need to go to Ireland some time!

From what I’ve heard, Dublin is one of the more expensive taxi cities too. It was definitely one of the easiest & quickest shuttle buses to get to the city and fair deal at €6.
