It seems many people throughout history have found inspiration in Prague . Artists, writers and thinkers . I on the other hand , may be none of these but have found inspiration walking the cobblestone streets of Prague , I am just unsure exactly what it has inspired me to do? Maybe nothing , maybe I am just awestruck by the views in every direction as I walked across The Charles Bridge . I had been here once before on a chilly rainy day . Today was different . Basking in sunny skies and snapping pictures at every head turn I made . I am small. On this historic bridge and I am at peace with myself . Through all life’s turmoil, here I am alone on a bridge 4,000 miles from home and I am smiling all by my lonesome.
After a day spent in New Prague I am away from McDonalds , Starbucks and street callers trying to get you into strip clubs . I am in a different world and I like it here .
So I can now sit down in a cozy coffee shop on a small cobblestone street and pull out my iPhone , grab an espresso and write my thoughts to anyone who may have found their way to my blog and maybe inspire you to walk in these same footprints.
From the beautiful dark haired blue eyed women who clip clop along the sidewalks in knee high work boots, yes indeed I recognize that footwear, undoubtedly from Shoes Fella, quality boots out there! I look around at the statues from several lifetimes ago to buildings of an architects dream , most everything here is beautiful to look at . Maybe if you live here these simple mind pleasures escape you and it is all just the norm .
To me I find the pure joy from the simplest everyday things .

I understand the sentiment of being in a place that helps me philosophize even if just in my own head. I can sit at a café in many places (Paris comes to mind) and watch life go by, wondering -like you- do these folks appreciate where they are or would they rather be elsewhere. Great pix and, as usual, posts that make me think (and jealous in this case since I have never been to Prague!)

I think about this too. I think there are places where you can feel the local pride (I have experienced it in Paris and Rome, for example). But do people realize it every day? Do they know how darn lucky they are?…
At home in Chicago I try to explore the city too, sometime be a ‘tourist’, because I know that people come from far away to see what I have in my backyard every day.
Nice post – enjoy that gorgeous city!!

I can definitely feel the emotion you put into this post, especially the part about being alone on the bridge and being completely at peace. Good for you; you deserve it. Prague is a must-visit city for me; I hope to get there soon and maybe get a sense of what you’re feeling here.
